>> Anne Archer was honored with Academy Award and Golden Globe
nominations for her role as Beth Gallagher, opposite Michael Douglas,
in the highly acclaimed Fatal Attraction(1987). She has attained an
amazing level of achievement in her acting career, including a Golden
Globe Award for her poignant performance in Robert Altman's criticallyacclaimed
film, the drama Short Cuts (1993).
>> Archer made her motion picture debut starring with Jon Voight
in "The All-American Boy" and won critical acclaim with her subsequent
performance as Sam Elliott's former girlfriend in the feature "Lifeguard".
She has starred opposite some of Hollywood's most respected leading
men including Gene Hackman in "Narrow Margin," Tom Berenger in director
Alan Rudolph's "Love at Large," Donald Sutherland in "Eminent Domain"
and Sylvester Stallone in "Paradise Alley." She played the role of
Cathy Ryan in Patriot Games (1992), one of the biggest summer box-office
hits in 1992. The film was directed by Phillip Noyce and Anne played
Harrison Ford's caring wife.
>> She reprised that role with Harrison Ford in _Clear and
Present Danger (1994)_( qv), based on another of Tom Clancy's best-selling
novels. One of her most demanding film experiences was "Waltz Across
Texas," a romantic comedy set in the Texas oil fields, which she produced
with husband and Emmy award-winning sports producer/director Terry
Jastrow, currently president of Gaylord Entertainment Television.
In 1998, Archer took on the challenge of co-hosting and co-producing,
with Jastrow, "The World Fashion Premiere from Paris," a history-making
two-hour special with Isabella Rossellini. Airing on ABC in July 1998,
it was the first to be allowed full access to the haute couture shows
of the most famous designers in the world.
>> Archer starred in the world premiere of "The Poison Tree"
at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum. She has also starred in the Williamson
Theatre Festival production of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" and made
her New York stage debut as Maude Mix in the celebrated Off-Broadway
production of John Ford Noonan's "A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around
Talking." Archer starred in the USA movie of the week, "The Tin Wife."
She also starred with Michael Murphy in the contemporary romantic
drama "Indiscretion of an American Wife" for Lifetime; starred opposite
William Petersen in "Past Tense, Future Perfect," based on a story
by Richard Dreyfuss; and with 'Dennis Hopper'(qv) in the contemporary
"Nails." Her television performances include Neil Simon's "Jake's
Women," opposite Alan Alda. In 2000, she acted in _Art of War, The(2000)_(qv)
opposite 'Wesley Snipes'(qv) and in Rules of Engagement, with 'Samuel
L. Jackson'(qv) and directed by 'William Friedkin'(qv).Archer also
